Manassas man accused of sex offenses at party

Manassas residents accused of sex offenses must understand the ramifications of the allegations. Not only will they face an extensive jail sentence, fines and more, but they will also need to register as a sex offender after the sentence has been served. It can negatively impact every aspect of their lives from getting a job, to getting into a school and more.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on a slew of charges related to the sexual assault of a woman at a party. The man is accused of several sex offenses, including aggravated sexual battery and sexual penetration with an object. In addition, he faces charges of public intoxication, possessing a firearm while under the influence and other criminal offenses.

While people who claim to have been sexually assaulted should be taken seriously and law enforcement must investigate the case, that does not necessarily mean that it is true. With the harsh penalties for sex crimes, a defense is critical. There might have been a misunderstanding or the accusations could simply be overstated or outright false. Given the penalties and the long-term consequences for a conviction on sex crimes, it is important to explore all the available alternatives to crafting a defense.

Although the accusations against this man are serious and he faces other criminal charges in addition to the sex offenses, he can still achieve a positive resolution with a strong legal defense. A law firm that has experience in assisting clients accused of sex offenses should be called for guidance and representation.
